LA Careers: Partners Trust Launches New Internship Program

The premiere real estate boutique brokerage in Los Angeles, Partners Trust, has launched its innovative internship program featuring dynamic mentoring and a customized curriculum designed to impart success strategies.
“We created the program in order to assist and train people in how to increase their personal productivity,” states Nick Segal, President of Partners Trust. “We’re helping them to learn how to navigate and be responsive within a busy office environment — an essential skill in the modern world of business.”
Adds Chatty Arrieta, the Chief Operating Officer of PT, “we consider candidates of all age ranges. Some are new adults who have just graduated from local junior colleges, while others are seasoned professionals with advanced degrees who are seeking to change professional industries and wanting a fresh start.”
(In some cases, Partners Trust also consider candidates who are currently enrolled in college coursework, as long as one of those classes in an Internship class.)
The new program offers 2 distinct tracks.
Track 1: The Future Top Producers Program
The Future Top Producers Program is for those who want to become licensed real estate advisors. Each intern is matched with a current mentor who is already a highly ranking, well-regarded star in the profession.
This track includes courses in contracts, negotiation skills, the transaction process, and relationship-building. Small breakout groups provide interns with the chance to actually practice what they are learning in role-playing exercises.
“We have a supportive culture here,” explains Dane Findley, the company’s Marketing Director. “I realize that many businesses say that they have a culture, but in our case, it’s palpable. You feel it as soon as you walk through the door.”
“The tutorial groups and presentations can get quite playful,” admits Segal. “Yet we balance that with a focused dedication to professionalism. You have to bring it. This program is competitive, and we look for candidates that have something different about them. A specialness. An enthusiasm.”
This particular track offers tiers:
- one for those who are newly licensed
- and one for those wanting to be shepherded through the licensing process.
Once the interns are licensed, they receive a significantly larger stipend and help creating a personal business plan for increased prosperity.
“Interns for this particular sales program have to make a minimum two-year commitment,” says Segal matter-of-factly. “It’s only for the serious. The potential rewards can be very impacting, so interns stand much to gain — monetarily and otherwise. Many will opt to remain with Partners Trust after they graduate from the program.”
Track 2: The New-Media Marketing Program
The second track is for those individuals who want to explore a career within the company’s cutting-edge marketing department (in other words, those who do not wish to be licensed selling-associates).
“The days of bus bench ads are waning,” says Findley. “The world is moving from analog to digital, and our social media campaigns are a way that our associates can provide value to our local neighborhoods. Real estate agents who want to be thriving ten years from now, must not only brand themselves as a community expert, they must become one. Our marketing team helps them in that endeavor.”
“Our marketing department is a highly creative environment,” continues Findley. “We help our associates learn how to create online videos and photographs and write blogs that reveal the best parts of each neighborhood. It’s all about lifestyle now. People are seeking ways to create a higher quality of life, and this is doubly true for members of the creative class who live in urban areas like Los Angeles.”
This track assists and trains interns is how to operate in a fast-paced environment, how to prioritize and develop an orientation toward details. New candidates begin at the Concierge Station, and advance from there.
“You have to understand that by the time a male in this country turns 21, he has watched over 10,000 hours of video games. And that doesn’t even include movies or television,” says Findley. “Our program gives people who have never worked in a high-speed brokerage the opportunity to learn social skills and business-productivity skills. There is a tendency to assume that a college graduate who has a specialized degree can hit the ground running. That’s setting them up for failure. We want to help them win.”
Those interested in applying for either of the two tracks of the Partners Trust Internship Program are invited to contact Partners Trust at 310-858-6800.

PT believes that the one of the best ways to be of service in the world is to help others discover — and then develop — their own inner-talents.
This Internship Program provides exactly that.
(By the way, applicants for the available Marketing Internships can still be in college. In fact, candidates who are enrolled in their school’s internship courses — those courses have different names depending on the school — are appreciated.)
Shaping today’s young, eager and committed fine minds and educating the complete mind to play at the highest level is one of the founding principles of our company. I look forward to inviting our initial class of participants and then our first graduating class.
This opportunity is unlike any other for students. I work everyday at PT, and being 21 — and working among so many successful agents and brokers — is shaping me into a much more dynamic and focused professional, as I enter the “ball game” of Real Estate.
I cannot imagine a more experienced and knowledgeable team of professionals to learn the business with. I look forward to seeing the talent chosen to join us!
