Pizza Wars: Which Is Better?
Here at Partners Trust, we started asking around the office, to find out what pizza our Associates believes is the best in LA. There were many nominations (PT Associates love their pizza!) but we noticed that two places were mentioned more often: Mulberry Pizza in Encino, and Beech Street Cafe in Pacific Palisades.
Phillipe and Scott grabbed a camera and popped over the hill in order to show us some beautiful melted-cheese footage, and why they believe Mulberry should win the title of Best LA Pizza:
Meanwhile, F. Ron and Nick thought that Beech Street Cafe was right up there with Mulberry, so here they make their case for why they believe that Beech Street is rocking the pizza world:
Of course, it’s these type of charming and delectable small-businesses that lend character and flavor to our Los Angeles neighborhoods, so we proudly spotlight them here on our blog. Now you can help us break the tie! Which pizza is better — Mulberry or Beech Street? Or, what pizza place are we forgetting to mention? Leave your comments below!

My favorite pizza is from A Votre Sante in Brentwood. It contains porcini & portobello mushroom, fontina cheese, parmigiano reggiano, and truffle oil. Delicious!!
I’m sorry, guys, but Joe’s in Santa Monica takes the cake. It’s on Broadway between Ocean Ave and 2nd Street. I’ll drive, you buy!
I tend to like the deep-dish, Chicago style pizza, where the crust is more flaky (and less doughy). On the other hand, I have very Californian tastes when it comes to the toppings — goat cheese and organic greens. Does that place exist?
Kristina’s (just north of Venice on Overland, perfect pizza, great people. Not the greatest location, but well worth the trip!
If you love New York style pizza, I gotta give it to Mulberry Street pizza in Beverly Hills. But you like authentic Italian style pizza (personal sized and cooked in a wood burning oven) then check out Pit Fire Pizza in Westwood.
Mulberry on Canon is by far the best in LA. no Doubt. Unless you can find a place that serves it with herring and a shot of Linje.
Okay, if I were eating pizza solo or with my husband or friend, I would absolutely go the goat cheese, beautiful topping route but I am always eating it with 4 or more kids and for this reason, I order from Enzo’s in Westwood. ENZO’S IS THE HOME OF THE 23 INCH PIZZA!! it truly is a behemoth of a pizza and the box itself is so big that unless you have a large SUV you have to tilt the box to get it in and out of the car if you want to keep it horizontal and not have a cheese infused mess on the front seat. The pizza is actually great quality and my kids love ordering it – great party pizza! Enzo’s is located in Westwood Village on Weyburn and open until 3am…the beauty of being located near UCLA!
Domino’s on Sepul… I kid, I kid. I have to say I’m a big fan of Bravo Pizza on Main St. in Santa Monica. Huge slices, great service, and right near the beach. What more could you ask for?
Maria’s in Brentwood! I love the mushroom extra crispy. A must try!
I have to say nothing says pizza like a thin crust, wood-fired Margherita. Many have been sampled around the city but I have yet to call only one my favorite. Any suggestions?
I think we may need to pile into the Partners Trust van and go Pizzeria Hopping.
I suggest we start at Mulberry St in Encino, followed by Mulberry St in Beverly Hills, followed by Mulberry St in Beverly Hills (yes, I said it twice because there are TWO heavenly Mulberry St pizzerias in Beverly Hills!!!) followed by whatever sub-standard pizzeria we hit next.
But Dane was kidding about the thick crust pizza, right?
